Eric E. Buck
President & CEO

Mr. Buck has served as President & CEO of Preferred Health Care since the beginning of 2004. In his role as President, Mr. Buck provides both operational and strategic leadership to PHC, drawing upon his more than 20 years of insurance and managed care industry experience. Eric has spent his entire career in the medical insurance business, holding a variety of leadership positions on both the insurance company and employer side of the medical benefits equations. Previously he was the CEO for a large purchasing group for employee benefits reaching across all of Pennsylvania, Vice President of Managed Care for a regional insurance company, and founder of a regional managed care company operating in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Sherry Wolgemuth
Vice President of Operations

Mrs. Wolgemuth has been with PHC for almost 13 years, serving in many operational and management capacities. She heads up PHC's Medical Services, IT, Claims, Customer Service, and Administration Departments.

David W. Bowers, M.D.
Medical Director

Dr. Bowers has served as Medical Director of Preferred Health Care since early 2005. Dr. Bowers has more than 25 years experience as a Board Certified family physician in Lancaster County and for the past 12 years has served as a physician executive for Lancaster General Medical Group. Dr. Bowers completed additional training in medical management, including emphasis on disease management, quality of care and medical informatics. Dave is nationally recognized for his efforts in developing an award winning diabetes management program in 1997 at Lancaster General. Membership has grown substantially over the years and is now one of the largest community-based diabetes programs in the country, with more than 6,000 diabetic patients enrolled.
